THE SHARE
MARKET
Harriman's Weekly ReportTM
Messrs. G. A. Harriman & Col's weekly share report and market review issued at noon on Saturday states:
Much brighter conditions have zuled in both Hong Kong and Manila during the week under re- view, and gold shares have reacted- upward sharply in quite specta- cular fashion. Cessation of "short" selling coupled with more reassur- ing cables about the Philippines political" future: optimistic news as to the outcome of the sugar conference and the allaying of fears regarding the US, gold price, have all combined to restare con- fidence. Our local market has re- 18/1fected the better feeling in Manila and after the April settlement (on Tuesday next) business is likely to expand still further.
