The goal scorers for the Chinese Morning Race Course-Quarry were Fung King-yae, Wong Wing-Bay Mark (P): Holt's Wharf Mark Tsul Ab-fal. Taylor (S); Quarry Bay Mark (8) North hang and scored the solitary goal for the Mark on Line (8); Finish West, to Police.
East. Distance: 8.8 mfes.
The Police had the best of play In the second half but the finish of their forwards was poor. Tay lor Green. Pope and Willerton all had chances of anding the net but railed to rise to the occasion.
The Chinese Pickering,
proved to be a much faster team, but had the Police taken advantage in the second half they should have at least been able to equalise:
Teams:- Ireland: Conner; Stevens: McGonigal. Miller; Irwin, Killen, Moore, Do- herty and Ferguson.
Galbraith,
England: Smith; G Webster, S. Strange; E. Strange, A. 8. Bliss, C. Parker: F. Fowler, W. A. Lands. H. C. Elliott, D. S. Blake and B. I. Bickford.
England although managed to break through Blake was unable to score as he was closely watched by Pickering. the Irish left back. Ireland again broke throung the English defence and their final goal came through a long drive Moore who sent fa which Smith tried to save by div ing full length. He managed to get down to the ball but it hit the right hand corner of the post and on rebounding struck his foot and went into the net. It would have a magnificent save had been Smith succeeded in getting the ball, before it hit the bar.
Towards the end England, had a number of chances to score but through erratic rushing Blake shot wide most of the time.
Parker, of the Police, played a very ane game at left half for England, and had it not been for
him intercepting passes between Miller and Irwin. the Irish team
would have scored several more
goals. Of the English backs S. Strange was the pick of the two, a feature of his play being hard drives to be forwards, who were not successful in getting away with the ball.
