"The combined values of imports and exports of merchandise as declared during the month of March, 1937 totalled $94.1 mii- lons (£5.8 millions) as compared with $61.6 millions (£4.0 millions) in March, 1935..
In terms of local currency the total visible trade of the Colony increased by 52.8 per cent. in March, 1937 as compared with March, 1936 and by 45.0 per cent in terms of sterling.

Imports of Merchandise totalled $53.4 millions (3.3 millions) as compared with $34.1 millions (222 millions), and exports $40.7 millions (£2.5 millions) es compared with $27.5 millions (1.8 millions).
Imports increased by 56.8 per cent. in terms of local cur- rency and by 50.0 per cent. In terms of sterling. Exports increased by 48.0 per cent. in terms of local currency and by 38.9 per cent. in terms of sterling.
