(BY LONGSHOREMAN), The freight returns, received from the Harbour Office during the 24 hours ended at $ a.m. yesterday, showed Д moderate tonnage diovement. "
The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony were
9.556 tons, with British steamers carrying 3,700 tons. Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colony amounted 28,468 tons, of which 10,580 tons were carried by British steamers.
Asiatic deck passengers entering the Colony during the twenty-four hours ended at am. yesterday were 1,558 of which 286 were from British steamers.
Shing. British steamer, There were altogether eleven 1.423 tons, Captain Walter, į arrivals, of which three were of from Canton buoy No. 88. British registry. the remainder J. M. & Co.
being of other nationalities, while of the sixteen departures, 10 were British ships. Particulars as 'fol- lows:-
