was 18.742 tons. with British steamers carrying 3.618 tons. Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colony amounted to 19.073 tons, of which 13,408 tons were carried by British steamers. Asiatic, deck passengers entering the Colony during the twenty-four hours ended at 9 am. yesterday were 877, di which 738 were from British steamers.
There were altogether Afteen arrivals, of which nihe were of British registry, the remainder being of other nationalities, while of the 18 departures, seven were British ships. Particulars as fol- lows:

THE BLUE RIBAND
AGAIN
When that huge French Liner the Normandie passed Bishop's Rock ight. (off the Scilly Isles) on Monday, March 22, the band on deck struck up the Marseillaise, for she had recaptured the Blue Riband for France.
This goes to the ship which makes the Atlantic crossing from the Ambrose Light in New York Harbour. to Bishop's Rock with the highest average speed.
The Normandie crossed with an average of 31 knots, thus beating the Queen Mary's highest average of 30.63 knots,
