The appointment was recently made of Captain E. B, C. Dicken, OBE, DSC, to HMS Tamar. In command and as Commodore In Charge of the naval establish- ments at Hong Kong. He suc- ceeds Rear-Admiral C. G. `Sedg- wick, retired, who was reappoint- ed temporarily on his promotion to flag rank in July last.

Captain Dicken has attended the technical course since relin- quishing command of the cruiser Durban, in the Mediterranean. He graduated at the Imperial Defence College in 1933 and had formerly been Senior Officer of the Red Sea sloops. The DS.C. was awarded him for active ser vice at the Dardanelles and in the
