Ideal weather favoured the Third Extra Race meeting held at Happy Valley on Saturday afternoon. A fairly large crowd attended and in the course, of the afternoon, His Excellency the Governor, Sir Andrew Caldecott, and Lady Caldecott, arrived. This was their läst attendance at a race meeting in Hong Kong. A splendid afternoon's racing was provided and among the Jockeys the most successful was Mr. Benny Proulx who rode two winners, a second and a third, while Mr. LT. Fung had two wins in three outings, and Mr. Donald Black two wins and two third places. No owners registered more than one win,

Y Liang, one of the leading Chinese 'jockeys, "was heavily thrown from Tabby Cat in the back straight nearing the Black Rock. Mr. Liang sustained serious injuries and was removed to the Hong Kong Sanatorium. On en- quiries yesterday morning it was learned that Mr. Lang's condition was good.
Two three-ngure dividends were Fald, Amberley (Mr. Y.T. Fung won the Deep Bay Handicap to pay punters $261.20 for a win and $62,20 for place, while Happy Venture (Mr. I.C. Harris) paid' $97.30, for a win in the last race of the day, i Mr. Harris secured his tenth victory at the Valley and thus graduated from the novice class. In the third race, the Calliope Handicap.
