The annual inspection of the Hong Kong Police Reserve by the Inspector General of Police (Hon. My T. H. King) took place at the Central Police Station -compound yesterday afternoon. Over 100 men were on parade and it was (a smart turnout.
After presenting trophies, commendations and meritorious service bars, the Inspector General of Police addressed the parade and in the course of his remarks expressed warm appre- elation of their services in support of the Regular Police and for the public spirit which inspired those services.
"We want as strong a Reserve as possible-but strength musi be in quality as well as in numbers. You have rightly followed this policy hitherto, and I trust you will continue It," he re- marked.

Dr. Mistowski is off to Japan to- day, sailing by the P. and O. Raj- putana, and will hold examina tions in Kobe, after which he will go to Tientsin, and Peiping, and expects to return to Hong Kong
on May 15th.
It is his fourth visit, and so he has many friends here, besides which he takes a great interest in all the young students who take part in local examinations.
He recalled that on his last visit the young Chinese students were most successful, and hopes! they will keep up that high stan-
