NON-INTERVENTION WRANGLE

SHARP ANSWERS TO

THE SOVIET

"Amazing Hypocrisy "

London, March 25.

International acrimony on the situation in Spain is apparent from the official report of the meeting of the Non-Intervention Committee yesterday which shows that after the Soviet repre- sentative, M. Malsky, had urged the despatch of a special com- mittee to Spain to Investigate what he alleged resembled an Italian military invasion, the Italian representative said that M. Malsky's “provocative statement" would have from the Fascist Government the answer it deserved.

́HERR VON RIBBENTROP, GERMAN" REPRESENTATIVE, DESCRIBED M. MAISKY'S STATEMENT" AS" AMAZING HYPO- CRISY."

Lord Plymouth. Chairman of the French Foreign Minister and the Committee, agreed that the French British and German Ambassadors. representative's suggestion in the matter should be referred to the Chairman's sub-committee.

The Portuguese representative pointed out that the Committee's rules of procedure" provided that accusations" should' be' made in writing, supported by evidence. He eaid that on a previous occasion the Soviet representative had brought unfounded charges. A continuation of such procedure was most dangerous to the work of the Committee and the peace of the world,

M. Maisky said that the Soviet had the gravest reasons for be- leving that breaches of the agree- ment were cecurring.

The German representative sald that Germany held the Comintern to be solely responsible for all the present trouble in Spain.- Reuter.

PRESS ADVICE

London, Mar. 25. According to the "Daily Mail." the British Ministers have received an assurance from Rome that the

Italian Government does not in- tend to break the non-intervention

agreement.

Morcover, said M. Delbos, the presence of Itällan regular troops in Spain had been irrefutably proved.
