The Imports and Exports Department (Statistical. Branch) reports that the combined values of imperts and exports of mer- chandise as declared during the month of February, 1937 totall- ad $69.4 millions (£43 millons), as compared with $55.2 millions (£4.3 millions), as compared with $55.2 millions (£3.6 millions) in February, 1938,
In terms of local current the total visible trade of the Colony increased by 25.7 per cent. in February, 1937 as compared with February, 1936, and by 19.4 per cent. in terms of sterling,
Imports of Merchandise totalled $38.5 millions (£2.4 millions), as compared with $30.3 millions (£2.0 millions), and exports $30.9 millions (£1.9 millions), as com- pared with $24.9 millions. (£1.8
millions).
Imports increased by 27.1 per cent. In terms of local currency. 20.0 per cent. in terms of sterling. Exports increased by 24.1 per cerit. In terms of local currency, and by 18.8 per cent. In terms of sterling. During the first two months of 1937 Imports of merchandise totall-
ed $78.3 millions (£4,8 millions), as compared with $64.1 millions (£4.1 millions) in the corresponding period of 1836. and exports $65.0 millions (€4.0 millions), al com- pared with $48.5 millions (3.1 "millions)..
Imports Increased by 222 per cent. In terms of local currency. and by 17.1 per cent. in terms of sterling: whilst exports increased by 34.0 per cent. in terms of local currency, and by 29.0 per cent. in terms of sterling.
