New Loudon, March 19. When labourers ceased work this afternoon, 425 bodies of chu- dren and teachers' had been re- covered from the ruins of the New London Consolidated School, but it is feared that the total of deaths will be nearly 620.

An investigation board of six members is starting immediately to question eye-witnesses and sur- vivors in an endeavour to solve the mystery surrounding the ex- plosion. Four field experts from the Bureau of Mines have been despatched from Washington to New London to assist in the in- vestigation.

The Texas House of Representa-, tives has adopted a resolution providing for legislative investiga- tion of the disaster.
