LEE WAI TONG AGAIN!

"Hat-Trick" Gives His Side Fine Win

FUSILIERS

GO DOWN FIGHTING

(BY ROY MURRAY).

The vital importance of valuable: points to both South China "A". and Fusiliers, made, yesterday's Senior League 'encounter doubly interesting. Excitement reigned at fever pitch throughout, and this was much in evidence, even among the players, which resulted in many glorious opportunities being fumbled,

The "main features of the struggle were Lee Wal Tong's amazingly clever hat-trick and the despairing efforts of the depleted Welch defence," which stood up magnificently, considering the loss of Taylor who sustained a dis- located ahoulder.

From the start it could be clearly seen that Lee Wal Tong and company were going to prove very troublesome to the Fusiliers' defence. Twice Lee drove fiercely at Rowlands who saved in Ane style.

EXCHANGES EVEN Exchanges in the first half were very even. However, in the second period the Welch defence became disorganised owing to Taylor's de- parture, which necessitated Talbot dropping back to the defence. The Welch forwards incked initiative, and "Sullivan was com- pletely overshadowed by Lee Tin Ping saving miracuously. So ended a game of thrills with Lee, Wal Sang. On the other hand the South China wing-men experienc-Tone enjoying & personal triumph ed a poor day--and, they have Lee Wal Tong to thank for victory. His three goals were typically all his own, and were an object lesson in correct individualism and driv-¡ ing force.

"Most card games, such as Contract or Auction Bridge, are games of hand, at any rate, played with only one pack at a time. All card games of chance. such as Poker, Trente-et-quarante.. and Chemin de fer, played for money are already legal in Eng- land, if played in a public place."
