THE IMPERIAL CONFERENCE

The Imperial Conference will open on May 14. In announcing the date to the House of Commons, the Prime Minister said that the Conference would sword an op- portunity for discussing matters of common interest to members of the British Commonwealth. under heads of first, foreign affairs and defence, secondly constitutional questions, and thirdly trade, ship- ping, air communications
and allied subject.
Proposed for consideration were certain matters relating to Com- monwealth treaty procedure, asd the international status of meni- bers of the British Commonwealth and channels of communication between them.
