trousers and the girls in wide starched caps and colourful frocks. Next cathe a most amusing num- ber which caused much laughter and applause... Bmall girls in dainty Kate Greenaway frocks and bonnets, each with a doll baby in a pram, and a bright blue parasol, Discarding their sunshades and picking up their babies these little mothers gave a charming dance with dainty grace.

A solo by Betty-Pestonji follow- ed called "Jota Aragonesa" in which she shewed herself a most accomplished young lady. Dan- cing with easy grace to the rhyth- mie sound of the castenets she wielded so deftly, she looked quite charming in her Spanish and the effect. was enhanced by the tunetul singing of Mr. Gus d'Aquino, hidden in the wings. The dancer pausing to listen to the love song, and then resuming her dance.

Then came Dawn Digby. A graceful nymphe from Arcadia, clad in Grecian draperies of palest mauve, to enchant us with a syl- van dance that made us think of woodland glades and sweet, spring violets:

A Pas-de-Deux by Dorothy and Winifred Raven' proved to be a difficult acrobatic dance for which

much praise. both deserve "their long dresses of ivory and allver, it must have been hard to accomplish those splits and hand- springs with such easy and supplé

grace.

(We

Sallor boys came next. shall have to tell Fred Astaire he is not the only one to follow the Fleet).

After that came what was per- haps the cleverest number of the first half, when a very self-pos- sessed little girl with an astonish- ingly low sweet voice sang'a quaint

song called "The God-fish Ball"

and afterwards was joined by

three little boys (in tails and white ties) and their girl-friends, who gave a simply splendid tap dance with wonderful rhythm for such young dancers. The young sin- ger's name was Sally Fuxman. and I predict a "future" for her. 'The boys were David Odell, Neville Wong and Billy Tse, and the girls Beatrice and Ruby Ching.

The second half of the pro- gramme opened with a brilliant tap- dance given by the older pupils and led by that chaming dancer -called Betty Pestonj. "Jazz" and won the biggest ap- plause of the afternoop. The trio dance and the solo dance were quite perfect in everyway and given with wonderful precision and marvellous technique, and the audience demanded an encore.

Other pretty numbers were "ballet" a "Good-night" arid a "Blue Danube."
