SHIELD GAMES SUMMED UP The principal attraction on the football card this week-end is the Sentor and Junior Semi-Final ties. I expect Recreio's interest in the Shield 10 come to a termination as a result of their encounter with South China "A", for whom Lee Wai-tong will in all probability re- sume leadership. In tipping Fusi ilers to oust South China "B", I am taking a chance on their superior cup-tie 'spirit. which should be sufficient to carry them into the Anal stage. I expect to see a South China. "A"-Fusillers Final.

LEAGUE RACE BECOMES TENSE

As a result of last week's League games in Division I, the "thirst of the football fan for more exciting finishes is quenched. The lapse of Rifles, Bouth China "A" con- fiscating the maximum four points. and China "B" losing three points. all combine to assure 2 more

MY FORECAST ON LEAGUE CLIMAX

NO STOPPING NAVY Eighteen goals in two matches! Navy were certainly in devastating form last week-end, and there is no catching them in their run- away race for the 2nd Division Championship. They can now be regarded as a certainty for the title, despite the spirited efforts of Fusiliers..

CHAU MAN-CHI IS GOOD Hud fale destined Chau Man- chi the Kowloon (C) inside left to be in a more "fashionable" team, 1 feel certain he would have been on the honours list this season He is possibly the most energetic and cnstructive inside left. I have seen this season. Against South China "A"; hew was the one man who caused the opposing star de- fenders no small degree of anxiety. The case of Chau Mán-chi is just another of a brilliant player who' goes unnoticed in a. team which does not command much limelight.

The contests were keen, the boya showing remarkable turns of speed, the roughness of the despite ground.

A lengthy programme of 42 events was carried through without a hitch to a successful conclusion. and several new records were

created.

SEASON'S SHOCK TEAM St. Joseph's can be justly dubbed the giant killers of Division I this season. They have developed the happy knock of rising to the oc- casion when facing the top dotchers. Their record shows vic- tories over Bouth China "A" and Rifles and draws with China Cheuk Chan. etc.. The puzzling point about it secs. la that they seem to top when facing the smaller try.

CONTRAST IN STYLES The contrast in styles of our local football teams la quite an in- teresting study. Bouth China “A” explolt a type of football which is all their own, and is definitely superior to that which is demon- strated by any other club. It in- troduces the Scottish touch. Rines play typically Irish football, while Seaforths, strange to say, lack the
