"HEIL HITLER, HEIL AUSTRIA!"

Huge Demonstration By Nazis Greets Arrival Of Von Neurath

Vienna, Feb. 22.

Austrian Nazis staged a huge demonstration to greet the arrival of Baron von Neurath, on his state visit which is the first paid in six years and indicates new German friendship towards Austria. The Nazis assembled in groups at many points and greeted the cars con- taining the German delegation | | with shouts, of "hell Hitler, heil Austria." Three thousand police faced a hopeless situation and confined their activities to con- trolling the tramt. Nothing is in dicated in official circles as to the purpose of the visit but it is un- derstood at least two problem's will be discussed. Firstly. restoration of the Hapsburg which is more favoured in Vienna than Berlin; secondly, the position of Austrian Nazis who at present are more re- cognised but tolerated rather than encouraged.-- Reuter

APPEAL FOR SACRIFICE IN CAUSE OF NATIONAL SALVATION

By special arrangement with "The People's Tribune" (Shanghai), we are privileged to publish the following striking survey of world affairs and their bearing upon the situation in China by Dr. Wang Ching-Wei, Chairman of the Presidium of the Third Plenary Session. In view of the firm atitude adopted by the dele. gates to that conference which concluded yesterday in Nanking, and in view of the very potent influence which Dr. Wang Chin"-Wei exercises on the hearts and minds of the people of China, we feel that our readers will greatly appreciate this early opportunity of reading at first hand what is the determined policy of a world-renown ed Statesman whose brilliant record has proved him fearless to the point of risking death rather than accepting defeat.-The Editor.

When I arrived in Europe last April for the purpose of obtaining expert medical attention for my wounds and to recuperate from the effects of other allments, the first thing that attracted my at tention was the general manifesta- tion of utter disappointment among the European peoples at the fallure of the principle of col- lective security. The general feel- ing then prevailing throughout the continent
