Six persons were injured in a violent clash between 35 sit-down strikes occupying a factory of the Fansteel Metallurgical Corpora→ tion, and 100 deputy sheriffs who were attempting for the first time to enforce the Court order to ar- rest the strikers.

The workers sprayed their op- ponents with acid through dire hoses and hurled volleys of nuts, bolts and spanners. The deputy sherif's retaliated by hurling tear gas bombs through the windows of the factory and brought up a battering ram against the dogr. After a two-hotir battle, the she-
