Prosecuting, Mr. M. J. Abbett, Assistant Crown Solicitor, said that on the evening of January 31, district watchman' No., 10, as a result of information. received, arrested the defendant in Lock- hart Road and said that he had been told that the defendnut had a forged 5 bank note in his possession. The defendant pro- duced a note from his jacket poc- ket and said that he did not know if it was genu'ne or not. At the Wanchai Pulice. Station while the accused was standing in the dock or the charge room. the district watchman, saw the defendant pull out u wad of what appeared to be notes out of his right hip pocket and throw them on the floor of the dock. Mr. Abbott said that in view of the large amount of bad money circulating in the Colony he would ask that he offence of the accused be marked by a severe sentence as a warning to others.
