Canton, Feb. 16. Owing to the rupid construction

and the

of roads and highways. increasing demand for motor vehicles of different kinds in Kwangtung Province, which are now being purchased from foreign countries at great expense, it is understood

that Mayor Tseng Yang-po of Canton is in favour of establishing a factory for the manufacture of motor cars and motor vehicles of all kinds.

Its reported that the capital of the proposed factory will be *6,000,000 and that this will be borne equally by the Government and the merchants.

As such an industry means the saving of millions of dollars an- nually, the Government Advisory Board, and the Finance and Public Works Departments are consider- ing the best ways and means for the early establishment of the factory-
