REST OF COLONY VICTORY
Brilliant Display By Doris Hunt

(BY'R.H.B.) And it was left to the Rest of the Colony XI to beat the Shang hal Ladies' Interport hockey team! This they did at King's Park on Saturday afternoon when they won by the odd goal in three and
though the margin of victory Indi- cates a close game such was not the case. The Rest should have won by at least three goals had tho forwards not been over eager in their final efforts, especially in the
second half.
Good open and constructive plas on the part of the Rest featured this interesting match witnessed by over 200 spectators.
The hero of the match was hilas Doris Hunt, of the C.B.A., whose display at left wing was nothing shart of marvellous. In the first half she appeared to lack con- idence but after the breather she played like one inspired. Her frat lime hitting was brilliant and she completely beat Miss F. Bomko, the Shanghal right back. Miss Hunt: dispensed with unnecessary run- ning when in possession and got rid of the ball almost immediately. In this respect Miss F. Wong, of St. Andrew's Club, also shone on the right wing. Both Miss Wong and Miss Hunt were responsible for excellent passes which should have produced more fruitful results had they been made the most of. The goal scored by Miss Hunt, which gave the Rest victory, was a bril- liant effort and had Miss Laura Carton, the shanghai custodian. well beaten.

The Australian side were finally dismissed för 231, but the M.C.C. lost two wickets before stumps were drawn for orly 24 runs.
Cloudy weather with a strong wind provided unsatisfactory con ditions for the start, when the wicket was distinctly on the nery side. Farnes making the ball uft considerably.
