SHARP ATTACK
ATTACK ON FRENCH PREMIER
CABALLERO'S Communist Plot Against
BOMBSHELL
"Untimely Jest"
Berlin, Feb. 3.
Premier Caballero's declaration on Monday that the Valencia Co- vernment consent to the territory held by Burgos forces being placed under the proposed system of supervision. created amazement ü political circles hero..
The *Deutsch Diplomatisch- politische Korrespondenz" states that this attitude is an "untimely jest," which might easily prejudice seriously the endeavours of those trying once again to restore order in Spain.
One might expect. that under the impression created by such objec- tlonable utterances as that of Ca- ballero the Non-Intervention Com mittee would set about its task all the more conscientiously in order to enforce" the restrictions in the Spanish zone of confict.
It is essential, so the paper con→ tinues, that the state of staguntion should not recur but that steps
should be taken to comply with the wishes of all nations, namely that the Spanish question should not disturb the peace of Europe.-- Transocean News Service.

The tonnage launched last year throughout world was 2,117,924 gross tons and of this British yards put afloat 856,257 tons or 40.4 per cent, of the aggregate. World tonnage launched in 1838 showed a (2 per cent crease on the. output for 1935, -- British Wireles
