Alan Flanagan, of Leicester, who was beaten in the boys billiarda championship, was unfortunate in having to play with an injured elbow.
He did not advance this to ex- plain his defeat by 250 points to 231, but the fact was he had to play with his elbow bandaged.

alleged barglars. The policeman chased one man and Flanagan the other. Moreover, Flanagan made his catch.

Explaining this, Flanagan said. "I merely caught up with the man and fell on him.”.
Though only 15, Flanagan is 5ft. Ilin. and weighs 13st, so we can appreciate the man's discomfiture. He is the biggest boy ever to play in the championship. He recently left school and is hoping to be- come a solicitor.
