Judgment For Husband
The case in which Pang Tak-yau ensure that she is not molested by was summoned by his wife Mulher mother-in-law. A husband is Sung-fung for desertion was con- not, of course, compelled to make cluded at the Kowloon Magistracy such extensive concessions but the yesterday when Mr. E. Himsworth' fact that he has done so is, I think, gave his judgment. Complainant strong evidence that he is really was represented by Mr. J. M. anxious to have his wife brought D'Almada Remedios while Mr. F. X. back into the family home. D'Alminda, Sur. was for the defen- dant.
In contradiction the wife alleges that she will not accept the hus In giving judgment his Worship band's offer because she is afraid Bald:
In this case the only point which has to be decided is whether the husband made a bona fide offer to his wife to take her back into the family household.
With regard to this offer, the evidence shows that it has been a | continuing offer since it was first
made in court on November 23, last. year. The terms have varied from time to time, but always I think, in the wife's favour. He has offered to be bound over to be of good behaviour to his wife, to give, her food and shelter and a month- iy allowance of pin money and to
he will attack her when unce she has returned!. The only evidence which is adduced to support such a contention is that the husband attempted to strike her once after leaving the court and that he did actually strike her before she finally left the marital home.
"I do not think that the presence of a concubine in the House can rebut the bona ndes of the hus band's offer. I therefore find that the husband's offer to take back his wife into the marital home is a genuine offer made in good faith and as such constitutes a complete answer to charges alleged, The summons e accordingly dismissed.
to Mr. Black, did not tally with the signature on the ticket and he was forthwith arrested.

Mr. Keen fined defendant $10.
