Pickpocket Caught
A Gill trick was used in picking the pocket of Il Shing on Janu- ary 24. when two men bumped into him and extracted $18 from his pockets at about 2 p.m.. at Des Voeux Road, West.
L Shing, who was carrying a package of food at the time, had to drop the bundle when one of the two men bumped into him.
One man. Lam Shum, a 30-year- old unemployed. of 23, Upper Lascar Row. picked his pocket and handed the sum of money to the other, who instantly ran away.
However, in transferring the money. 18 dropped to the ground and I picked up the money and apprehended Lam at the same
time.

Dr. Wong's Version
According to Dr. Wong's evid- ence, his car was on the proper side of the road. He was coming from the Star Ferry, and wanted to turn into Mody Road, having given the usual signal. He did not feel the impact of the collision between the rickshaw and his car, but he heard a noise, like some thing falling, after he had turned the corner. On turning round he saw that the rickshaw had over- turned and that Mrs, Braith was on the ground. He got off, and
she replied that it was the fault ask if Mrs. Smith was all right and
