"Invented stories are a perfect nuisance," declared an official spokesman alluding to the Moscow trial allegations that Leon Trotsky saw Rudolf Hess and that Germans conspired to overthrow Stalin.--Reuter.

Moscow, January 23

All seventeen accused pleaded guilty when another mass trial of high Soviet officials opened before the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court here to-day. The Indictment charges the ic- cused with being implicated in a vast plot engineered by Leon Trotsky to destroy the Soviet regime and help Germany, Poland and Japan.

It is alleged that Troisky carried on negotiations with Herr Rudolf Hess, Chancellor Hitler's deputy, in Berlin, while the other accused acted as agents in Russia. The indictment also charges the accused with espionage, terrorism and attempting to rein- troduce capitalism into Russia.

Among the accused are Kari Radek, famous journalist, Sokolni. koff, former Soviet Ambassador to London, Platako, former Angis- tant People's Commissar for Heavy Industrica. Serebrianov, former chier of the Chinese Eastern Rail- way, and Drobnis, state witness who turned "king's evidence" at the trial of the German engineer Slickling last November.

British Army Needs 20,600 Recruits
