Then beat in one or thre tablespoonfuls of golden syrup. just enough to make a fairly soft mixture which yet does not drop quickly from the spoon. Have ready a greased pudding basin. Put two tablespoonfula of golden syrup at the bottom and the pudding mixture on top. Tie greased paper over the top and steam for two hours.
