Further Evidence Given At Summary Court

The hearing of the action brought by Mr. Coell Ng Wing Lee against the Eastern Hollywood Flim Company for the alleged de- tention of two Bell and Howe 400 fool film magasines, two Debrie 403 foot film magazines and six Reflex camers slides valued at $355, and damages for $645, was continued before the Fuisne Judge, Mr. Justice J. J. Hayden at the Summary Court yesterday. Mr. G. 8. Hugh Jones appeared | for plaintiff, and Mr. D. McCallum was for the defendant firm.

The first witness of the day was Mr. Jensen Jones, sound recording engineer. residing at 47, Reclama- tion Street, Kowloon.

Mr. Hugh Jones: You know both the plaintiff and the defendant Mrm?--Yes.

Did you ever hear Mr. J. Shek refer to the magazines before this action was brought?--Yes.

Where? At the Al Cafe. Yau- mati, near the Majestic Theatre.

And the date?-July 14,

Who were present then?-Tong Kim-ting, 3. Shek and his brother, A Shek, Mr. Torres: plaintiff and myself.

LEARNED OF OBJECT

Did you know why they met on that occasion?-I did not know before the meeting but I learned of the object afterwards.

And what was the object?--That plaintiff wanted the recovery of the magazines but Mr. J. Shek re- fused to return them.

Do you remember what Mr. J. Shek säld?—Yes, that the maga- zines had been taken by a Mr. Kwok.

Do you know who Mr. Kwok is? -No.

Dia Mr. Shek make an offer to return the magazines?-Yes, Mr. Shek wanted plaintiff to pay $150: $50 in cash and $100 in credit. be- fore he would return the maga

zines.

Were there any other references to the magazines?--Yes, Mr. Shek referred to them on one other occasion.

Throughout the whole time there did all remain together?-No, visited another table for a while, and others occasionally left for short visits elsewhere.

Were you at the party by arrangement or by chance?-By chance.

How many times did Mr. J. Skek say that the magazines were in the possession of Mr. Kwak?—Three times.

How is it that you recollect this Bo distinctly? Because on the first occasion, plaintiff asked him the whereabouts of the magazines, the second time when plaintiff asked Mr. Sher, where he should go for the magazines, and thirdly when Mr. Shek sald to plaintiff that if he had 350 then he would take him
