Colony Badminton Championships

The Arst annual open badminton champkinships of Hong Kong Men's Singles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles) will be held under the auspices of the Hong Kong trom Badminton Association as Tuesday, January 26, 1937. Entries for these events are herewith in- vited.

All members of clubs affiliated to the Hong Kong Badminton Association are eligible to compete. Any realdent of the Colony is eligible to compete, providing he or she complies with Rule 3 (c) of the Hong Kong Badminton Asso- clation's Rules. Such competitor shall pay Two Dollars affiliation fee in addition to the entrance fees imposed for the various events.

Entrance Fees are as follows:- Men's Singles, Three Dollars per player. Men's Doubles, Five Dollars per pair. Mixed Dollars per pair.

Still young and very fit at 79, the Chief Scout, Lord Baden- Powell of Gilwell, is to make an- other trip abroad. This time. It will be to India where he will visit the All-India Scout Jamboree to be held at Delhi at the begin- ning of February next year. The Chief Guide, Lady; Baden-Powell, and Mr. L. A. Impey, Headquarters Commissioner for Beouts, will ac- company the Chief Scout;

It is expected that 20,000 Scouts of every caste and creed from all parts of India will attend the Jamboree, which will be the first of its kind and the largest ever to be held there. The Chief Scout and Chief Guidé will leave Bombay on March 27, and will return to England to carry out the busy pro- gramme that awaits them, which includes Coronation Rallies, which will be held in all parts of the British Isles, and the World Jam- boree at Vogelensaang, Holland, in August next.

Coote, has just been appointed Headquarters Commissioner for Eve Rover Scouts.
