Inspector Ellis said that he was

Charged with obstructing an In- dian constable while arresting a hawker at Hill Road, Lam Fai, 28, licensed taxi-cab driver, WIN was brought before Mr. Fraser, at the Central Magistracy yesterday morning.
Inspector Hourihan said "P. c. B150 Ghulam Mahommed was in plain clothes and had arrested a hawker, when defendant came up to him, pulled at his arm, and asked him to release the hawker. The Indian also alleged that de- fendant called to the crowd which had gathered to assault him but two other policemen arrived on the scene and took defendant to the Station.
Inspecor Hourihan sald he thought defendant was only ask- ing the Indian to give the hawker a chance and did not know" the Indian was a policeman, because he was in plain clotea.

FIRE
A small fire broke out in No. 163 Fah Wah Street. Shamshulpo, on Wednesday. The fire was caused when pieces of lighted charcoal fell from a stove onto some papers. Damage done to the flat amounted to $150. An appliance from "the Shamshulpo Fire Station extin- guished the blaze a few minutes after its arrival. The house was not insured.
