Mrs. O. M. Parkinson (President of the Lodge) announced that it was originally planned to hold a symposium of three speakers, all in one hour. This had however, to be altered..

The speaker went on to say that the Plan of Evolution for this the development planet included

of great Root-Races (such as the Aryan) with their sub-races (such

the Indo-Aryans. Arablans. Iraians, Kelts and Teutons). Each sub-race had its own particular characteristic and was best fitted to give its peculiar gift to the world.

Mra. Parkinson concluded by saying that Mrs. M. P. Talati would talk on two of the Asiatic sub- races of the Aryan Root-Race; those being the Indo-Aryans and the Iranians.

THE SAME STOCK

There was much evidente, be- | Japan. gan Mrs. Talati, showing that the Indo-Aryans and the Iranians (cr Persians) were of the same stock and had for an empire a vast do- main in Central Asia. Ancient books show that at one time their religion, language and culture were ' the same. This religion was one of multiple gods. The Devas" of Spirits of Earth, Air. Water, Fire, the Bun, Moon and the Stars were all worshipped with considerable admixture of black magic..

Beyond all this they conceived of a Supreme God, Asura-Varuna who had before him other Gods of al- most equal power. Then. for- tunately, pervading all this Was the beneficient Mithra Cult which taught brotherliness, purity and love as well as revealing the My- steries to those who were ready for them. The climate became considerably cooler and when a dispute arose on some religious points the Indo-Aryans moved southwards to the banks of the In- dus from which they derived their name and from whence ther spread throughout India.

FOUR GREAT PERIODS`·

There are four great periods 'of Indo-Aryan history in India. Each

ESTABLISHED AN EMPIRE

The Iranians then moved west- ward and there established a great commercial empire. Then to half the corruption that followed, was paved the way for Iran's Į greatest gift to the world the Advent of Zarathushtra. Zara- thushtra gave the world a new re- Uglon. He taught that there was only one great Pervading God- Ahura-Mazda the Creator, the Father and Sustainer, the God of all the religions. To reach Him there must be Right Order bad in our lives as we tread the paths of Devotion, Knowledge and of Ber- vice. The great Persian Empire spread these truths but also absor- bed much that was unwanted. Its place was taken by Mithralem again which had remained pure throughout the ages and opened only to Zarathushtra's beautiful Teachings. Then came the decline of the Iranian peoples until now only a few hundred thousand Then came the third period

MITURAIC INFLUENCE "Alexandra's Ubrary had a great many Mithralc works and later Mithraism became widespread in the Keltic Empire or the Romans Christianity took its place showing however, many Mithrale in fluences such as the placing the Christ's birth at the winter solstice: the beginning of a journey of a new 'Sun to spread Its "benefcient"

beams on a suffering world. Islam too was modified by Mithra in its teachings of tolerance and brother hood, and its marvellous works of sculpture, architecture and poetry Joined those of the Iranians.

The Indo-Aryans are perhaps the greatest benefactor of mankind as a nation. India was already populated by representatives of the Atlantean Root Race who being teferior to the new stock fell naturally into the position of ser rants this allowing plentiful time

and has its particular gift. The Arst was merely a time of war- fare but left a tradition of cour- age and mercy which still inspires. The second period began a long and astonishingly productive cycle. and was one of meditation of many sacred books (the Pedantas and others) and the time of the advent of Shri Krishna who pre- sented that great Indian Scripture,

nations of Ceylon Burma, Tibet. China and Japan and now has half the population of the world as its adherents. The fourth or Puranic period saw, India's temporary de- cline but still there were many contributions to world welfare. There were other great teachers the Divine Child Krishna and Shri Vivekanda who spread the devo- tional school of Brahma Krishna More recently India's gifts have taken the shape of art and at pre-

sent the world may view many of her treasures, especially those of architecture.

DEATH SENTENCE

Marseilles, Nov. 12 One hundred and twenty members of the Monarchist syndicate in Barcelona, whose names had become known to the police, in that city from a lat found on a Monarchist recently arrested near the Franco-Spanish border, bave been sentenced to death by the Peoples Court and executed by shooting, according to a report here from Barcelona. The message asserts that the man in whose possession the list was found, confessed to the police that the members of the Monar-

chist, syndicate plan to commit a series of criminal acts on foreign consulats in Barcelona, in order to involve the Catalan Government in International complications.
