Freight And Asiatic Passengers Returns
(BY LONGSHOREMAN). During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday, the treight returns, received from the Har- bour Office. showed ጊ fairly high tonnage movement, a large proportion of which being contri- buted by British ships.
The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony Was 16,319 tona. with British steamers, carrying 4.071
tons.
Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colony amounted to 17,933 tons of which 10,436 tons were carried by British steamers.
Astatic deck. passengers entering into the
Colony during the 24; hours ended at 9.00 a.. yesterday were 1,802, of which 1551 were from British steamers,
There were altogether twenty arrivals, of which ten were of British registry.. the being of other nationalities, while remainder
