Annual Clash In Aid Of Charity

At the Club Ground, yesterday, Armistice Day, the Annual Ch-rity Match between the Combined Services' and the Rest of the Co- lony, under the auspices of the Hong Kong Football Association, was played under ideat weather conditions before a very large crowd. The latter side won by 3 roxis to one, after a spirited en- counter.

A most imposing spectacle at: the match was the display of marching and counter-marching given by the Band and Bugles of the 1st Bn. The Royal Ulster Rides, before the commencement of the game' and again at the interval. His Excelency the Gov- ernor, Bir Andrew Caldecott was an interested spectator and was introduced to the teams. Prompt- ly at 4 p.m.. Referee Ip lined up the following teams:-

Rest of Colony-Rodgers, C70- Wing-chiu, sano, Costa: Leung

Tang Young: Wong Ma-sumi, Kwong-summ, Chan Tak-fal, Knox, Wilson, Bickford.

The Kowloon Cricket Club de- feated the Hong Kong C.C: in a friendly all-day fixture played yesterday on the latter's ground. Hong Kong could only amass 115. against steady bowling by Lee, Goodwin and Lt. Garthwaite (the Army and Interport player), while K.C.C. scored 145 for 5 wickets.

E. C. and E. F. Fincher scored 43 and 32 respectively. B. D. Lay ako got into double figures. Holden and Kubee were the most success- ful of the home trundlers.
