Revision Speeded Up
The development of flying and other modern means of transport has increased the urgency, for re- vision of the Ordnance Survey maps of the British Empire.
This was emphasised by Sir John Davidson, Chancellor of the Duchy, of Lancaster and chairman of a Government Committee investigat- ing the question of survey recently. He was speaking at the annual dinner of the Royal Geographical Society at the Dorchester Hotel.
"The Committee has issued an interim report," he said, "as a re- sult of which I can say that the revision of our maps will be speed- I ed up to a degree greater than any- one, thought possible...
