Faulty combination among their backs caused the defeat, of the'] Navy at the hands of the Club in a rugby match played.at Çause- way Bay on Saturday.

The Club won by three goals. two tries and a penalty goal (24

points) to a penalty goal (3 points). Of the Club team, the efforts of Bonnar. and Butcher were out- standing in their brilliance.

ER. A. Evans, of the Hermes. replaced Lt. Benson at fly-half. The former played for the Colony against New Zealand University XV last season, and he was in fine form.

Surprise results featured the opening matches in the Caer Clark Cup ladies hockey competi- tion on Saturday afternoon. Visit- Ing King's Park, the St. Andrew's Club Ladles shared two goals with the YMCA, Ladies in a splendid match the Anal result of which was a very fair indication of the run of the play. On "the Polt Training School ground Mong- Kok,

the Hong Kong Ladies' Hockey Club, last year's runners- up and former Champions of the tournament, defeated the Club de Recreio Ladies by the only goal of the match netted by Mrs. D. L Prophet, the Interporter.

SAINTS' FINE SHOWING

In their match against the 'Y' Ladies: the Saints were the first to find the net when Miss Joy Ecoker sent in a shot that Miss W. George made no effort to stop. Midway through the second half of the game. Miss Marjorie West- cott, who played against Shanghal this year. scored the equaliser.

For the Saints, Mrs. R. Rose 'kept a splendid goal,,while Misaes G White, R. Stephenson, J. Wòng and P. E. Gictins were also in the Limelight.

Dr. Sun Fo, President of the Legislative Yuan, who arrived in Hong Kong on Friday from Macao, paid an official cali on His Excellency the Governor, Sir An- drew Caldecott, at Government House on Saturday morning. G. Seth Smith.
