New York, Nov. 3. Under overcast skies and rainy weather, people of the United States this morning went to the polls for the presidential election determined to be the first toʻrecard the return of twelve electors in the village of Millfield, New Hampshire, which received the charter under George III, and voted a minute past midnight,

Five voted for Mr. Landon and two for Mr. Roosevelt, while ave abstained from voting.

Millfeld has thus wrested the honour from New Ashford, Massa-

chusetts, where a dozen voters w

gather at dawn in a schoolhouse which serves as a polling station.
