of the Scottish Company at the Volunteer Head- quarters last night, Capt. E R. For yth, Officer Commanding the Company. in the course of his speech, referred to the recruiting campaign and

that said

the slogan "Join, join, join" was all

wrong. To force a man to join the Corps just to make it numeri- cally strong was wrong. The eff- ciency of the company and the general smartness would make a man join of his own accord.

The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion and the haggis was piped in traditional manner. An excellent programme of must cal entertainment was also render- ed.

The successful outcome of this conference, to which I am pleased my Government contributed. has set a happy example for the future..
