TENSION RELAXED ("Hong Kang Daily Press" Speciali
Paris, Oct. 10.
Following a period of extreme tension during which the Com- munist Party refused to accede to the Government's ban against a number of political party meetings planned in Alsace Lorraine, the Communist Party 'issued a state- ment late on Saturday evening announcing the decision to agree with the Government.
It was pointed out, however, that It must not be implied that the Communist Party was in agreement with the Government's attitude.
Extensive precautions had been taken by the authorities to guard against disturbances. The police prefects were given orders to forbid meetings in certain sections of the town One hundred and seventy detachments of Mobile Guards were sent to assist the police in their work.
The situation is still thought to be extremely difficult and critical and is likely to have a decided in- fluence on the Radical Socialist Party congress which will take place next week,- Transuras News Service.

Breslau Conference Postponed
Berlin, Oct, 11. The country is mystifled by the sudden decision to postpone the National Colonial Conference due to start at Breslau on October 16. The campaign to make the coun- try colony conscious has been worked up for some time and the Breslau Conterence was scheduled to be accompanied by most specta- lujur publicity. The cryptic an- 'nouncement attributes the post- ponement to illness of one of the organising officials, but there is good reason to believe that the ex- planation les deeper.
Dr. Schacht and von Epp are the leaders of the colonial movement, but Chancellor Hitler was never a leading exponent of the colonial campaign. Herr von Ribbentrop is similarly lukewarm and

The capture of Cebreros, follow- ing that of San Martin and Valdeiglesias,, gives the National- ists, for the first time the use of a direct road between Avilla and Toledo. The danger to his left flank by raids of militamen on the Tala- vera-Toledo road, from the north and south, is now practically elimin- ated by the cleaning up, in which fresh Moorish troops from Africa, legionaries, regulars and cavalry participated.-- Leuter.

POLICE AND ARMY LOYAL
It is pointed out that the Cabinet's decision to dissolve the Heimwehr could only be countered by some desperate act of violence by Prince von Starhemberg, but since the police and the army are entirely "loyal to Dr. von Schus- chnigg such a step would not only be suicidal but is regarded as-im- possible. The entire Cabinet, in- cluding Major Baar-Baarenfels, and Dr. Draxler, is now behind Dr. von Schuschnigg.

Rome, October 10.
The Cabinet reviewed the position of armed forces and de- cided, owing to the urgent need of certain supplies, to increase the hours of armament workers to sixty hours a week, besides the creation of new aerodromes at Po Valley, the Adriatic and Tus- ean coasts, Sardinia and Sicily.
It is stated that the output of aeroplanes is satisfactory, but so far they are insufficient to meet existing plans. Therefore the large new factories will be exclusively devoted to the output of acropiane engines.
PERSONNEL INCREASED
The number of the Air Force cadets will be doubled during the year.
The personnel of the Navy w be increased to 80.000 men,
The Cabinet considered the nation's military preparations as a whole being intensified with ex- cellent results.
A new decrée has been issued creating a consultative Air Council composed of high officers, scien- tists, industrialists and air experts whose function it would be to make recommendations regarding equip- ment, personnel and organisation of the Air Force.
It is estimated that the cost of the new aerodromes will be over
