England-Australia Solo Flight
RECORD TIME
Port Darwin, Oct. 11. Miss Joan Batten, the famous New Zealand airwoman, arrived here at 1.13 a.m. GALT, beating the solo flight record from England to Australia by 23 hours 17 minutes. -Router.
Miss Batten left England at 1.10 a.m. G.M.T. on Monday and among other places she stopped at Akyab (Burma), Penang and Singapore. On Saturday she was at Keopang (Timor Island), within 500 miles of Australia, with plenty of time in hand to beat the record.
