receipt would be asked for they did not deliver the goods. They also removed stamps from a num- ber of letters and sold them to people at West Point.
The men, Lam Ngan. 18, shop foki, and Lam Ping Lung, 19, shop fok, were charged before Mr. K. Keen at the Central Magistracy yesterday.
Det.-Sergt. J. Bentley stated that on Wednesday at 8 p.m. he was called in by Mr. Nagarai, assistant manager of the Arm. Enquiries were made and it was found that the second defendant. had not paid the electric light bill (833,75), and that the electric com- pany had threatened to cut the prires.
The first defendant admitted taking the silk goods, and took the police to the fifth floor of China Building, where the material was found, and also a number of lecters with the stamps erased.
Both defendants were employed for the last 14 months. The goods were valued to 133.
First defendarit was sentenced to three months hard labour and second defendant to two, and a half months.

Lau Tong, 22, salesman, Was brought before Mr. K. Keen at the Central Magistracy, yesterday, for larceny of five pairs of silk stock- ings, 2 yards of Shantung silk, four yards of artificial silk and two pieces of mixed crepe, September 14.

Further Evidence Recorded
Further evidence was heard by Mr, K. Keen at the Central Magis- tracy yesterday afternoon, in the case in which five Chinese women and man were charged with the possession of a large quantity of heroin pills at 99c. Leighton Hill Road, first floor. The hearing was adjourned.
Mr. H. A. Taylor, Government Monopoly Analyst, gave evidence of the raid, and stated that he found pink stains on the hands of four of the defendants.
