Füllowers of the Sport of Kings will be well provided for at the 8th Extra Race Meeting of the Hong Kong Jockey Club on Saturday, Oct. 19. The card is an exceedingly attractive one, with the Sub-Griffin Plate featured as tite main event, over a distance of 11 miles.

Mr. S. C. Liang who has been riding with moderate success sitice his initial appearance on the local course in early May of this year will not be seen in the saddle at this meeting. This popular jockey has only just recovered from a severe attack of malaria and is still convalescing. There is also a possibility that Mr. H. M. Pth will be on the absent list owing to an injured knee sustained through an accident on the cinder track while putting a few ponies through their Mr. paces on Tuesday morning. Pih has been booked for sonie pro- mising mounts and it is earnest ly hoped that he will have re- covered suficiently by Saturday to face the starter.

E. F. Fincher (Kowloon Cricket Club) distinguished himself to-day when he scored 127 not out towards a total of 277 collected by Hong Kong in reply to Shanghai's first innings score of 479 in the second day of the Interport cricket match. Shanghai, with a lead of 202 runs, deckled to bat again.

Fincher's century is the first he has scored in an Interport match his previous highest being 2.
