The market was quietly steady during the day with small busi- ness done at quotation rates.

The Manila market was some- what irregular with little changes in rates excepting Paracale Gamaus which rose from 80 cen- tavos to Ps.1.05 and reacted to 92 centavos at the close.

The stockholders voted to in- crease the capital from P100,000 to 2500,000 at a meeting held re- cently. Of the new stock, P200.000 worth, or 2.000.000 shares, will be allotted to present shareholders at the rate of two shares for each share now held. The rest of the new issue will be held in the trea- sury for the directors to dispose of as they see fit.

The report of the engineer or the company's property on the island of Panaon. Leyte, was read at the meeting. This report was very encouraged and it recom- mended that development be con- tinued. were present.

NEW COMPANIES Cornello Balmaceda, director of commerce, recently approved the incorporation papers of the Gu- maus Goldfields. Inc., a P1,500,000 mining firm backed by a group of Filipino capitalists headed by As- semblyman Felipe Buencamino, Jr. Of the one and a half million pesos authorized capital, the sum of P300 000 has been subscribed and P75.000 paid up. The firm has been granted a těrm of 50 years.
