... WON BY MRS. MOIR AND MRS. BURTON

Experience overcame youth in dec sive fashion on Sept. 27 when Mrs. J. E. Moir and Mrs. T. M Burton won the ladies open dou-. bles tle of the Shanghai Lawn Tenn.s Association by defeating Mis. C. Getz and Mss D. Eard ey in the final by 6-4, 6-2 on the Association court. Before the 'doubles match, M. N. Loo won the junior singles crown by defeating J. P. C. Her ground strokes on both forehand.and backhand were the most emphatic on the court generally going deep and making play dficult for the opposing couple. She received good support from Mrs. Burton who shone par- icularly at the net with sharply ang cd valleys.

The younger players tended to ta erratic and were on the defen- sive for the most parc. They made considerable use of the advantage they held in court' coverage by varying the length of their shots easy to. frequently place their shots beyond reach.
