Man Gets Fifteen Months For Assault

Criminal Sessions commenced yesterday before the Chief "Justice. Sir Atholl MacGregor, and the first-case 'called did not .occupy any length of time. Ng Kam, the accused, pleading guilty to a charge of assault with intent to rob. His Lordship sen- tenced the accused to fifteen ̧ months' imprisonment,

Twice during the course of the morning, the jurors in waiting who had been summoned to be pre- pared to serve on the jury, were allowed to leave by the Chief Justice while a case was proceeded with. The first occasion was at 10.30 ama when the jurors were asked to return an hour later, and again at 11.45 m. when those in wait- ing were told that it was not necessary that they attend court till 2 p.m.
