Madrid. September 15.

The efforts made by the Chilean Ambassador, as doyen of" the Diplomatie Corps accredited in Spain, to induce the officers and cadets in the Alcazar in Toledo to release the women and children, who are also holding out there against the Red Militia, have falled.

The answer to the Ambassador's request, made from Toleda directly, where the diplomat had journeyed, was that if the Ulplomalle Corps wished to communicate with the officers and cadets. In the Alcazar, this had to be done through the Provision- at Government of Bargos..

Immediately after the Ambassador had departed, the Red Militia again opened bombardment on the Alcazar-Transocean News Service.

The fugitives arriving here all report that General Mola's army is advancing on Bilbao at astonishing pace, the first line of the Reds' defence at Orto having already been overran. Hunger. ponie and anarchy prevail in the elty, the conditions of which can- not be described, so that it is no surprise that the first typhoid cases are already reported..
