Apart altogether from the fact that this letter was typed on fam- boyant note-paper that would al- most harmonise with the publicity ideas of an obscure booking-agent för a third rate vaudeville turn. the sentiment expressed cap only be interpreted as a very gauche and unworthy attempt to "discip- iine" a newspaper which has shown that it is directed by those who have enough courage to criticise constructively where such criticiam is pertinent.

the target for these darts of insol- ence and pettiness is beside the point. The letter simply reeks of the most abysmal snobbery and paltroonery as the official attitude of an organisation which, whilst appealing for public support, re- sents public criticism.
