Central British School

PATIENCE REWARDED

Obe of the prominent landmarks of Hong Kong will be the new building of the Central British School, which His Excellency the Governor, Sir Andrew Caldecott, will officially oper at 3 p.m. on October 14th. The long felt want of a new building has now reward. ed the patience of many masters and pupils.

The building is altuated on # hill, from which is obtained a won- derful panorama of Hong Kong and the mainland. There is no doubt that the, pupila will have every opportunity to lead a more healthy life here in these modern and beautiful surroundings.

Everything that is needed is on hand; airy and light class-rooms, artistically decorated and spacious playing grounds.

The architect of the new school Is Mr. W. "A. Cornell, FRIBA.

THE SCHOOL'S HISTORY

The foundation stone of the old school was laid on July 20th., 1900, by the late Sir Henry Blake, a for- mer Governor of Hong Kong. A large donation was given for the school's erection by Mr. (now Bir) Robert Ho Tung.
