Lisbon, Sept. 1. on the lives of the Nationalist leaders, Generals Franco and Cabanellas, were narrowly averted, according to rê- ports here from Spain, which state that the military pollee of the insurgents arrested eight men, who confessed to have been sent to Burgos by the Comintern to assassinate the leaders of the Nationalist forces.
The police searched the would-be assassins and found that It is reported they were provided with revolvers and poison. that the eight men were immediately tried by court.
