"PETTICOAT FEVER" Majestic Theatre Under New Management
A thrice-welcomed team return- ed to the Majestic Theatre yester- day when "Petticoat Fever," new Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production co-starring Robert Montgomery and Myrna Loy was screened.
Adapted from the successful stage play of the same name. "Pet- ticoat Fever" concerns & young wireless operator in an Icebound Labrador station. He is so lonely that, when a beautiful young girl fller and her male escort run out of gas and make a forced landing nearby, he holds them prisoner rather than face another Arctic night alone.
The story runs ità, merry course, with the young operator making remarkable romantic headway. when his one-time fancee, a girl who stood him up two years be- fore, appears on the scene, intent now upon marrying him.
The excellent supporting cast in- cludes Regina'd Owen,

BLUEJACKETS ACT AS NURSEMAIDS
In view of the widespread in terest and admiration aroused by the British Navy's workmanlike evacuation of refugees from Spain. It will be appropriate to give some further details of how the work la performed, writes Hector C. By- water, "Daily Telegraph" Naval Correspondent.
The record for embarking the largest tumber of fugitives is held at present by HM.S. Devon- shire, which recently conveyed 600 from Barcelona to Marseilles The Devonshire, however, is a particularly roomy cruiser of 16.000 tins, and even with such a large number of extra "passengers" the problem of accommodation would not become acute.

As the refugees docked on board they were met by officers and ratings, who directed them where to go. Most of these unfortunate people were on the point" of ex- haustion and many were almost starving.
The weather was he, so it was possible for all the destroyer's awnings to be spread. In addi- tion.
canvas screens were rigged along the upper deck, which taus became a large tent. This, again. was divided into several cumpart ments by rigging other screens athwart the deck, and the refugees enjoyes a certain degree of privacy.
