Wins Championship For The Third Year In A Row
LAST WEEK'S GAMES
ぶ
REVIEWED
(BY "SHORT HEAD")
"Haus Off to the Craigengower Cricket Club for having won the senior lawn bowls league for the third year in succession, (and incidentally for the second time) and thereby making history for local bowls. Their convincing win over the Taikoo Dock last week clearly demonstrated their versatility as a bowls unit and now with only three more games on hand the senior cham- pions can well afford to lose them as the Bowling Green and Recreio by their defeats last week have been left far behind in the running for the championship.
All three of the C.C.C. “A's" rinks were on the credit side al though there was a keen tussle seen between N. Drummond's four and U. M, Omar's quarteite. The C.C.C. "A" eventually winning by the score of 14 shots to 12. Rossolet's four had the measure over Wallace's rink by 22 shots to 14 while in the last rink Luz skipped his side to victory against Chalmers' four by 20 shots to 14.
K.C.C. SURPRISED RECREIO " Much to the surprise of every- body the K. C. C.. with five men from the second teath, "beat the Club de Recreio by the comfort- abic margin of 18 shots. Fin- cher's rink comprising Gittins,
well to beat the strong rink skipped by C. G. Silva. "Oltins at No. 1 played his usual steady game and
played good bowls on the day, and would have given any team in the senior league a go for the points.

TO-DAY'S PROSPECTS
The Police are entertaining the Taikoo to-day and should expe- nence little dimculty in "exeching a win should they keep up with their form of a week ago when they so convincingiz demonstrated their superiority over the Indians. Their skips have all found their form and at the present moment should give any team a run for the points.

effect as far as they are concerned, having already won the champion- ship. However, the Dockers played up well last week against the Civil Servants and they are capable of repeating the trick again to-day. On form and paper the Champions should win.
A match that may have a strong bearing on the runners-up pozition | will be played to-day on the Civil Service Green when the home team

The Craigengowas representative emerged the winner by 22 shots to 19 after having led by at least 13 shots at one time.
Over 200 spectators watched the game and the Bowling Green are to be complimented on the excel- lent seating accommodation and arrangements. A novel feature was the erection of blue screens at either end of the green,

FALL FROM GRACE The much fancied Civil Servants had a fall from grace on Saturday when the lowly placed. Kowloon Duck team took them to book and inflicted a smashing win over them by the score of 70 shots to 35.
Skipping for the first time this season in lawn bowls league, A. W. Grimmitt was unable to lead his men to victory, succumbing to the wiles of that veteran "Jock" Mc- Kelvie by the score of 24 shots to 14. It must be said however, that the Dockers were playing better bowls and deserved to win.
Another of the Civil Servants' - stalwart skip J. F. MacCowan went down serably to Cullen's four by 20 shots to 9 while Cooper and his men had the measure over Hollidge's four by 26 shots to 12. Generally speaking the Civil Ser- vants found the Dockers in great "form and were beaten by a better

Only one out of the three rinks was on the debit side, and in this respect "Pop" Duncan was res- 'ponsible, being in deadly form against H. V. Pearse, saving his Fide on numerous occasions with his deadly deliveries. He won by 22 shots to 12.
In the other two rinks, W. K, Way had the upper hand over L Guy. For the winner J. W. Leo: nard and K. M.
