Berlin. August 11. The spring board diving was decided in the Swimming Stadium this morning and proved an overwhelming victory for America. They gained the gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The gold medal winner Degener showed himself to be head and shoulders above the rest of the competitors, scoring 163.57 points which is 19.55 points higher than the Brevious winner was awarded in Olympic diving contests. His technique was flaw- 'less and his elegance aroused storms of applause from the large number of spectators watching the contests.

Other results were: Wayne (America) 159.56, Greene (Ameri- ca) 148.29, Shibihara (Japan) 144.92, Welss (Germany) 141.24 and Esser (Germany) 13799 points.
